The proposed Football Operations Building which is the second project of the Martin Stadium Football Facilities Improvements will provide a home for the Cougar football program, including new weight room, lockers, equipment and training rooms for players, in addition to position meeting rooms and coaches’ offices. It will also feature a WSU Football heritage area and a game-day home for Gray W former letter winners. This 84,192 GSF building will compliment the surrounding campus buildings by use of brick, metal wall panels and glass. The scoreboard will be relocated to the east concourse area in time for the first home game in the 2013 season.
By making these improvements to the Martin Stadium Football Facilities, it will be possible to increase the recruiting potential for Washington State University Intercollegiate Athletics. These improvements will bring the stadium into a more competitive status in the PAC 12. The game day experience will be enhanced for both fans and players. Improvements to the football program facilities will also ensure better conditioning and training for the players.
During construction, alternate pathways will be created to bypass the construction area. From Colorado St. it will be possible to move south between Bohler Gym and PEB then accross Rogers Field on a temporary hard surface fenced path to the CUB elevator. The North Stadium Concourse will be closed during construction. The most direct path from Stadium Way west will be along Flag Lane to Colorado, or west along Wilson Rd.
